Certified Relationship Strategist Level II: Clinical Residency

Certified Relationship Strategist Level II: Clinical Residency is an advanced sixteen-week professional certification program for graduates of Certified Relationship Strategist Level 1 who are prepared to develop deeper clinical reasoning, treatment sequencing, and professional judgment in marriages experiencing severe and complex relational distress.

Level II begins where introductory crisis intervention ends. Students examine marriages that may no longer be actively deteriorating but remain too fragile, dysregulated, deceptive, emotionally inaccessible, structurally compromised, or clinically unstable to begin ordinary restoration work.

The residency develops the practitioner’s ability to reason with incomplete, changing, and sometimes conflicting information. Students learn to distinguish Objective Truth, Patient Truth, and Clinical Truth, assess relational acuity, protect Truth Integrity™, determine the appropriate level of care, recognize changes in condition, and make defensible decisions across the complete Marriage Recovery ER™ continuum:

ER → ICU → Recovery → Outpatient Care

Through longitudinal cases, clinical documentation, case formulation, Grand Rounds™, treatment-disposition decisions, and Relational Morbidity & Mortality Conference™ analysis, students examine betrayal, disclosure injury, severe emotional dysregulation, relational instability, failed repair, relapse, Code Blue™ events, readmission, discharge, relational mortality, and Marriage Postmortem™ review.

This course is not designed simply to provide a larger collection of techniques. Its purpose is to change the quality of the strategist’s reasoning when the relationship is unstable, the evidence is incomplete, and the outcome remains uncertain.

Students are trained to make thoughtful, ethical, and professionally defensible decisions while remaining within the limits of their lawful role, credentials, training, jurisdiction, and supervision.

Certified Relationship Strategist Level II: Clinical Residency is delivered through Holmes Digital Campus with live online faculty instruction.

The sixteen-week advanced residency includes:

Students select one live section and remain in that section throughout the residency. All class times are scheduled in Eastern Time under the America/New_York time zone.

Live classes are not recorded.

Students should plan for approximately six to eight hours of weekly participation, including live instruction, textbook reading, case formulation, documentation, assignments, professional discussion, and review of faculty feedback.

Because this is an advanced residency, some cases and assignments may require additional preparation time.

Registration opens August 4, 2026 and closes September 24, 2026 (Eastern Time).

Instructional length: 16 weeks. Each section meets once weekly for two hours in live session. Sessions are not recorded and recordings are not provided.

Included course material: the required textbook only.

Refunds are available before the student's selected section begins. No refunds are available after the selected section begins.

Paid tuition may be transferred to a future Holmes Training Academy course, or gifted to another eligible student, within one year.

Late registration may be approved during the first week after the selected section begins, or later at faculty discretion.

A student enrolls in one section only. All published times are Eastern Time (America/New_York).

Admission to Certified Relationship Strategist Level II: Clinical Residency is limited to graduates of Certified Relationship Strategist Level 1.

The following admission requirements apply:

• Verified completion of Certified Relationship Strategist Level 1 required
• Faculty approval required
• External-equivalency review is not available
• Applicants may not reach payment or final enrollment until the prerequisite and faculty-approval requirements have been satisfied

Admission is not automatic upon completion of Level 1. Faculty may consider academic performance, professional conduct, ethical readiness, scope awareness, completion of prior requirements, and demonstrated preparedness for advanced case reasoning.

Certification is competency-based and subject to faculty approval.

Students must remain within the limits of their lawful professional role, training, credentials, jurisdiction, ethical responsibilities, and supervision requirements.

The hospital terminology used throughout the course is an organizing metaphor for relational acuity, stabilization, treatment sequencing, recovery, and continuity of care. It does not convert relationship strategy into medical practice or authorize students to make medical, psychiatric, psychological, forensic, or legal diagnoses.

The course does not confer professional licensure, replace clinical supervision, authorize emergency or safeguarding work beyond the student’s competence, or expand a student’s existing legal or professional scope.

Live classes are not recorded. Students are expected to attend the section in which they are enrolled and may not routinely move between sections without administrative approval.

Additional faculty, evaluators, supervisors, or guest instructors may be assigned by Holmes Training Academy LLC when appropriate.
